I'm sitting out the start of the hurricane here in VA and am so thankful to be off the trail now. I know what a storm is like out there, but what must the earthquake have been like on the trail?

Was anybody hiking when the earthquake hit on Tuesday? Tell us about it.

Not on the trail but...
This week in Virginia Beach:
1) Dense Smoke from "Dismal Swamp Wildfire".
2) Earthquake.
3) Hurricane Irene.

What next? Volcano or Locust Swarm?

I have a plague of locusts penciled in for next week.

I have a plague of locusts penciled in for next week. I'll mark that on my doorpost.

Yep, the day I got off the trail and made it home the earthquake (what there was of it) hit. Then the next morning the lovely smell of the dismal swamp burning followed by the hurricane (what there was of that too). I'm thinking I was way safer on the trail. Heh.

Shouldn't be too many inquiries about water sources on the trail.
