NuB asks Leki question

I just gave in and bought some Leki trekkiing poles. Just couldn't handle the grief without them.

Question about the poles: On that flexible disc about 2 inches above the tip there is a notch cut-out. What's the notch for?

Snapping onto the other pole for packing them. If you snap both poles into the cut out and use ther little hinged snap thing just under the grip of one of the poles, the two poles will be fastened to each other and easier to stow/store/lash, etc.

One additional piece of info for Leki users - The tips are easily replaceable for ~$15. Well worth the price it when they get dull.
