It is evident this thread, and maybe the site is being over run by spam. can something be done to delete these accounts quickly?

I'm sure they will notice and get to it as soon as they eat their wheaties... meantime I'll go over to hammockforums and pray it hasn't been invaded.

It's all in the Arizona trail forum. Just go to the forums page/tab and navigate from there until they fix it.

Someone obviously figured out when the White Blaze shop is unattended and posted this bunch of crappy medicinal (quasi-medicinal) junk. The word idiot comes to mind, possibly even two words, stupid and idiot. Anyway, I assume the White Blaze mechanics will clear out the interlopers soon enough and we'll be back to normal, ah, abnormal. Hey, any reports from the AT in NH and ME? It must be kinda wild up there.

Just light rain up until an hour or two ago. Getting breezy and rain increasing in intensity to "steady".

You people are ridiculous, anyone on this thread ever put any skin in the game to keep WB up and running? Ever donate? Obviously a spam attack but I'm guessing most of the volunteer moderators are tending
to more important fronts... like protecting their family and homes from a Hurricane.

Yes. I modded in the past. A most unthankful job. Keep up the good work. If people would just think that there are other ways to navigate it wouldn't be such an issue. For those that can't find something else to do if WB is down, well . . .

I have neither modded nor donated, so my opinion means squat. But just saying thank you to all the mods for there efforts in keeping WB going. It is totally uncalled for complaining about the spam people. Its not the end of the world and the issue is resolved. Get a life!

The above post was in no way directed at the moderators. Been a little busy with Hurricane Irene taking aim at New England, et al, and haven't had a chance to get on the forum for a few days. When I finally got a chance to check in all the fake pharmacopia popped up!

Thought my pc was having fits! :-? Looks like things are under control now! :) Good work mods! :sun

Both Alligator and Rick live onthe East Coast. Power is out in quite a few areas still; even inland. And where there is power, people are having to deal with the cleans up (downed trees, brush and other debris) .Or, they may be like me and have relatives they are concerned about (everything is OK!)

Relax. There are more important things to worry about than spam in a few forums!

Oh come now everyone knows that WB is the most important thing in the world. I'm disapointed in all those in this thread and others who choose not to donate but choose to complain. Such is the state of the world these days and my prediction is it will only get worse.

My .02 unless your paying for a service you have NO right to complaint about it. That includes spam, threads being pulled, or heavy handed moderators. Even If you are paying it doesn't hurt to cut people slack when they are doing what they can.

I'm wondering if the spam (which I have seen NONE of to date) is an indication of just how WELL the moderators do under ordinary circumstances. I doubt that the spammers all picked the last few days to attack. I think the moderators are doing great. Thanks to all.

The spammer(s) set up two (I think it was, that I saw) new profiles on WB, and then began starting new threads. Each was a spam post. If I recollect correctly, at one time the one profile had 251 posts and the other had over 150, when I stopped checking. Each post was an entirely new thread, so page after page of the new posts that WB shows when I sign on was nothing but spam. It was a mess. I knew the Mods would get to it as soon as they could, so I just came back later in the day and all was good.

You are right, ATTroll does a thankless job, keeping WB up and running as consistently good as he does. And thanks, too, to the Mods for their contributions.
