Can anyone point me to a relatively safe place to park a vehicle for about 7 days around South Mtn, Pa.
Friend and I are gonna put together an AT section hike from that area SoBo to Harpers Ferry.

A great (and very safe) place to park is Caledonia State Park. The AT runs thru it and they let hikers park in a certain lot by the ranger station. If your going to Harpers Ferry it would give you about a 60 mile hike. 20 in PA and 40 in MD. Its a great hike, but just a heads up the hill out of CSP is fun :)
You can park at my hostel a bit north of South Mt, and I will shuttle you to your trailhead. For info call me at 717 352 4686.

Hey, thanks much for the info! I will let my hiking partner know about the hostel and see what we can come up with. We were also wondering about the State Park too. Again, thanks! this is why I like this site.

This would be about the right distance for us. I was looking at the elevation profile and it did look very interesting :).
