Various gravy options widely available, basicly poured over bread/toast ...

Anyone with idea's on recipes for these 2 items ...

Could always toast over open flame too ...

Prolly get a good 4 lunches out of a loaf and few gravy packs ....

Pretty simple stuff, really. Sausage or bacon fried up in your pot first, then make the gravy in the same pot. Crumble up the bread into it, add fresh ground pepper from your little Lexan pepper grinder. Dried beef, such as jerky, could be used for a more classic S.O.S. Easy, not much mess if you wipe out the pot with a little more bread, tasty and filling.

S.O.S. is the way to go. i like to add some dehydrated peas to mine, but thats just me.

Excellent idea, as chipped/dried beef keeps well.

For those more gourmet minded you can also try Welsch Rarebit.

Ooo...I love Welsh Rarebits. Not sure how to make it on the trail, though. Cheese sauce instead of the beer, cheese, mustard and Worcestershire? Could be done....
