I was looking at getting the optimus crux solo cooking set and was wondering what experience people have had with this set.

I can't comment on the pot/lid but I just got done hiking the VA section of the AT and the stove itself worked perfectly. I love that it folds up and stores under your fuel cell and in 40 days of use I went through only 2 230g canisters even using it for hot breakfasts, cocoa, dinners and sometimes hot lunch when the fronts rolled through.

Since that deal is about the same cost as the stove alone I would say you cant go wrong with getting the pot/lid for free.

EDIT: I see now that it is the crux lite stove... I would suggest you pass this up and get the regular crux which folds up. Besides that I believe they are the same.

I had the Optimus Crux (folding stove). It was a great stove, but it had some issues. I went through 3 of them before I got one that was rock solid, but then I sold it since I now prefer alcohol stoves... Here is a review I did on m OC:

The pot and lid are fine. They're coated with non-stick and pretty easy to keep clean. The lid's supposed to double as a cup but it's not perfect for that because the edge gets very hot. It's usable but takes patience. The pot and lid will weigh two or three ounces more than a same size titanium product. I use a similar cannister stove (Pocket Rocket) but have not used the particular stove bundled with this set.

I have the HE Weekender version and use it with a Brunton Flex stove (very similar to the Crux). The heat exchanger bottom on the larger pot does make a difference in boil times. The other thing I like about the pot set in the volume of the lid pot/fry pan - it is 450 mls. The pot set holds a small LPG canister and the stove - very compact. It's a great package for backpacking and kayaking.

All that said - looks like a good deal and worth getting.
