I want to start next summer in the early part of july and i don't know what ill need for the summer up north and winter down south. Can anyone give me some advice.

I have some posts up on southbound vs northbound on my blog (http://www.blissfulhiking.com), but I do need to tackle the gear issue yet. Anyway, when I went on July 1 , I had summerwear (convertible pants 2 wicking t-shirts) plus a few insulating pieces for the higher elevations (lightweight top and bottoms, polartec fleece). I took a hat. My sleeping bag was 25 degree (30 may be fine then you'll need to switch to 15 degree at least). prepare for solitude
One of the best parts about it, imo. Though at times I did miss fellow hikers going my way.
