This was just an exercise I did to see how it would turn out. I am planning on hiking in the class of 2012. This is an Excel Spreadsheet listing the mileage countdown, nearby town with weather readings. I monitored monthly averages and daily conditions. I realize the temperature will be different on the trail, versus the nearest town. So, right from the start I know this is not scientific. It is not perfect. It is not meant to mean anything other than what it is: A 2011 daily log of temperature highs and lows for towns along the way for an imaginary Thru-Hiker, leaving April 1st and averaging 12 miles per day. Now that it's finished, I post it now for your interest. Feel free to use it in any fashion you would like.

That's pretty cool. As a former VP can tell you, the climate could change drastically. It could pour rain everyday or there could be a major drought. Ain't life interesting?

Farmer's Almanac says it's going to be a wet 2012:

Is there any way to keep going back in time with this / and is there some way to indicate precipitation days?

There is no way of predicting weather conditions. In the first 5 weeks from GA to TN the lowest temperature was 11 degrees and the highest was in the 90s, and this was from mid March to mid April.
