Alright looks no ones been to Standing Indian Loop lately. How about water in Southern NC in general?

Very dry all over this section of Western NC. The springs may be problematic but I would guess the creeks will still be flowing OK. :)

Water wasn't horrible, but looking from the wear and tear of the trail to water and according to other hikers who had hiked it before, in most places you did have to go further down hill than normal

had a trickle at Rufus Morgan Creek on Saturday and the rock box at the Telico Gap spring was nice and full on Saturday night - things are dry though - I hope it rains and rains soon

If you fill your water at every stream will you be OK? Or are there enough streams? Dicks Creek Gap to Fontana starting 10/19

I didn't find the water terribly problematic. Just make sure when you find it to fill up. I didn't run out of water at any point or even come close to running out. Standing Indian had plenty of water, but that was over a week ago as well.

Standing Indian Shelter- Good flow
Carter Gap Shelter- Slow
Betty Creek Gap- Very slow and muddy
Big Spring Shelter- muddy & slow, improved after rain that night
I exited off the AT at Glassmine Gap.
