I'm currently reading Nightwoods, which was written by Charles Frazier (who wrote Cold Mountain). Is anyone else reading this? The novel seems to be set near the AT in North Carolina... it talks about a lake, and being near government woods, so my guess is south of Fontana. At one point the main characters come across an oak tree that sounds exactly like that tree right across the GA/NC border... Anyone else read this book and get deja vu?
