I'm trying to locate a good set of topo maps for the trail at a reasonable price. No advice about whether or not they're necessary please, I'm just trying to figure out a stealthy way to find some. Even photo copies would be just fine.

Your best bet would be to find the old AT maptech (?) software. Or for that mater, any old topo software. There are also several sites online that let you view any topo for free.
Or old copies (the trail hasn't changes that much) of the maps from the ATC (I assume they all have topo lines).
