Odd Man Out

Did a day hike at Loda Lake on Sunday. Weather was ridiculously fantastic for October and fall colors were near peak. Loda Lake is a wildflower sanctuary in the Manstee NF, about 8 miles N of White Cloud MI. It is 1 mile S of the NCT on the Birch Grove Trail (http://northcountrytrail.org/wmi/maps/BirchGroveTrail.pdf). It's one of our favorite places to go for a fall color Sunday drive/walk.

14083This moss was so soft and green. And also notice the wintergreen. I love a little aroma therapy when I walk with Wintergreen and Sassafras.
14084The trail goes by the foundations of an early 20th century barn.

14087Not at Loda Lake, but in the apple orchards closer to home.
14088Oooohhh, Aaaahhh
