The Aquamira Frontier Emergency Water Filtration system

I found online this water filter available on Amazon.com. It's only about 10 $ and weighs less than one ounce.

Personally, I am sceptable (sp?) that something so cheap and so light could fit the bill.

I (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sawyer-Inline-Water-Filter-with-34-Ounce-Bottle/8283710) have seen this Sawyer filter at WM for $26.00. The included filter is 3oz (I think) and can filter a million gallons...basically it never needs replacing. I would rather spend $30 bucks or so and get a permanent solution.

I tried out the AquaMira Frontier Pro recently and was not impressed. My intention was to use it as a gravity filter in camp attached to either my Smart Water bottle or platy. The water flow was way too slow and never got any better plus you had to constantly unscrew it from your water container to relieve the vacuum pressure that built up.

I guess if you want to use the straw that came with it and drink directly from a stream it would work but I didn't want to look that silly.
