I use the Terramar Geo Fleece all winter long for the job I have. Great stuff. Really warm.

Wore a Terramar long sleeve shirt from 2003-2006 (retired it after I did the CDT). Bought it Sierra Trading Post as a matter of fact.

Thanks everybody. There was good reviews, but I was curious about if any hikers used it. Think I'm goin with some merino wool tops and bottoms....gonna be so nice and toasty...laying in the hammock will be like an artificial man-womb

So, I guess MAGS, Moose2001, and ATMilkman aren't hikers?

I've used Terramar base layers from Sierra Trading Post for years as winter wear, and I've been very satisfied. It's durable, relatively inexpensive, and it functions as advertised. I usually toss a lightweight top and sometimes a bottom into my pack for summer section hikes. I've never weighed them, though.

Sorry, MAGS. After rereading conburn's post I think (hope) I misunderstood. He saw good reviews somewhere else, but they were not reviews from hikers. He and I meant no disrespect, just the cunfusion of speaking online without intonation and context.

I've used a Terramar shirt for hiking, and another warmer version for downhill skiing. I like 'em!

Yea Enic, I was talking about reviews on sierratrading post. Should have been more complete with my response. Whiteblaze is where the real hikers are found! Thanks for the input everyone, now I just have to wait for a killer sierra trading post coupon.....and pounce!

I just came back from a camping/hiking trip (we like to camp in the late fall and winter) and guess what base layer bottom I was using? Terramar....

Good, budget baselayer IMO.
