No, but I wish you had a photo of the shelter that was ON Little Rock Pond Island, back in the 60's...........I wonder if anyone does?!

Birch Spring was one ratty shelter, but the water source was good.

In the book by Earl Shaffer, Walking With Spring, there is a photo of that shelter and a photo of the island with the bridge to it.

The only picture I know about of the original Little Rock Pond shelter with the bridge to the island is in 'Walking with Spring', it might also be in 'Green Mountain Adventure' by the GMC as well.

I might just have a copy of that, all I have to do is find the disc. I will post it here if I find it.

Kind of funny this pic came up when it did. I camped there right at the shelter spot last Friday on my Fontana to Newfound Gap section hike. Here is my little "camp." At the time I did not realize what the foundation was from but another hiker came in and told me it was the old shelter.

Birch Spring Gap Shelter is the place my brother & I spent our first nite on what has turned out to be a 25-year section hike (so far) of the AT...the wind was howling and the snow was outrageous!!!

Good job Veteran.
That was one unique shelter. The dismantled bridge was still sitting around nearby until very recently.

I assume that you're talking about Little Rock Pond in Vermont. Here is a picture of the island circa 2009 (http://whiteblaze.net/forum/vbg/showimage.php?i=32853&catid=searchresults&searchid=53007), with a link in the comments section to my photo from almost the same perspective in 1979 (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/vbg/showimage.php?i=33802).
