Could I be allergic to wool?? I got a two pair of wool socks and my feet hurt the entire time I wear them. I can wear cotton socks or synthetics with no problem, they just hurt if I'm wearing the wool. I don't have any breakout, just aching, hot, discomfort, like inflamation. Especially in my toes.

I stopped practicing medicine sometime ago* (because I could never get it right) but usually wool allergy is manifested by a rash of some sort, something itchy.
What you describe sounds to me the result of too thick and/or too warm socks.
BTW, usually if people are allergic to wool it is actually to lanolin or dust mites, both not usually present in commercially available products.

What Franco said. When I get hot and sweaty when wearing wool, it gets itchy and red/irritated.

Try wearing a sock liner or used dress socks to avoid the irritation, see if that helps.

Could they be too warm, or too tight, or thicker thus compressing your feet more when in shoes?

Lots of folk claim to be allergic to poor quality wool. It's just scratchy. Give up the name brand of the socks.
