Anyone know of a light, truly leak-poof flask? I tried a garden variety one I found at Bass Pro and -- well, good thing I wrapped in two zip locks! My pack would still smell like rum!

A Gatorade bottle works too.

Haven't held one or tried it, but I plan to get one of these: http://www.packitgourmet.com/Foldable-Flask.html

I use one of these. http://www.rei.com/product/402028/flat-oval-poly-bottle-8-fl-oz For overnighters I carry a 4 oz version. No leaks so far.

Most Nalgene products are leak proof. I think I could stand on the 4 oz. bottle that I usually carry olive oil in and it wouldn't leak. If you would like a flask shaped container, consider purchasing a small volume of liquor which comes in that type of bottle. There should be no leakage or plastic compatibility issues with these.

Nalgene has a clear lexan 16oz. flask that has a blue sleeve over the bottom 2/3. The sleeve will stay in your pocket or a pack pocket so that the flask can be pulled out and replaced easily. The cap acts as a shot glass and it won't leak. I have 2 of them and they work great. Bought them at REI about 5 years ago. I checked the Nalgene site and they aren't shown...don't know if they still make them or not. REI currently has a GSI lexan flask that looks similar but smaller and w/o the sleeve. Backcountry shows the Nalgene on their web site but is listed "out of stock" but at least you can see the product to know what to look for. They are as bullit proof as a Nalgene bottle and weigh 4oz.

Thanks for all the suggestions. A simple water or gator bottle never occurred to me. Also, when I looked, I did find that you can buy small pint sized bottles of libation in plastic bottles (original packaging). The Nalgene options also look pretty good for reuse or for downloading from bigger bottles. Thanks!
