Had about 6 inches of wet snow in the Linden Va. area today. Snow will melt fast but there are tree branches down everywhere. Trail maintainers will have there work cut out for them.

The Skyline Drive closed down this morning due to the early snowstorm that had dumped 6 inches of snow at Big Meadows . Since then I have heard reports of 9 inches .

Just got home from Damascus. It was crazy last night and this morning on Mt Rogers. I hiked down to Elk Garden and its complete whiteout. If ya cant see the next blaze or the trail, hike over. Hitched down to Whitetop (the town) and am being peltedwith 40pph sleet until I get a bike shuttle to take my buddy and me in. Then as soon as we arrive in Damascus the sun comes out. And we feel like total wusses for bailing so soon, but we had no idea it would and it was appearing to keep getting worse.
