76 pound whitetail doe was swallowed whole. Wonder what an 8 point buck would have done. Ya'll come on down and hike Florida. Skinny hikers to the front of the line. I've been watching this python invasion with much interest for a couple years now; it does seem like they're firmly establishd now, along with a few other things.

That pic of the snake sliced open is great!

Saw a Nat Geo show other day where one swallowed 6' aligator & was found split in half with gators tail sticking out. Really messing with eco system in the Glades

Some say another gator might have bite the snake.

That is a classic picture from a few years ago. Apparently the snake could not digest the alligator properly and exploded from within after some gases built up. I heard the story too about the head possibly being removed by another alligator. But I don't believe that happened. When animals start to decay, their body parts can separate from each other, I think the head just fell off from decay.

The boa has now joined the alligator as apex predators in South Florida. I hope they don't dominate the alligators or the endangered crocodiles.
