The way I read that blog, he's just making fun by taking the "I'm going to shatter the record" bravo to an extrem.

If you can dream it you can do it! Just do it! Go for it! Live your dream! Boldly go where no man has gone before! It all starts with just one footstep - or is that a website and press release? Oh well, whatever, I've run out of cliches for now.
