Had a great day on the trail today with 2 friends starting at Eckville and heading up to Hawk Mtn. Nothing but white and blue and padding on every rock.

Hehe, padding. I like it. Looks beautiful. Snow and blue skies -- my favorite!

Beautiful pics. The padding is nice until it gets slippery!

Those damn PA rocks are slippery when they're dry. Almost killed myself on some just south of Rt 191 earlier this fall.

Looks like at least a foot!

The top was about a foot of snow although it was melting quite fast by the end of our hike.
Lazee said he had 8" at Eckville (at the bottom of the mtn).
There was much more on top.
It was fun for a day but is mostly gone already here this morning.

Hopefully it's all gone by next week's hike. I've dealt with snow lots of times, but I'm not fond of it when it hides the foot-twisting rocks and roots that can be found along most of the Trail in New England, nevermind the Pa rocks I expect to contend with. Oh, well! It is what it is. Might bring my crampons if it looks dicey.
