You've got two great choices:
1) Jeff & Nancy of Hike Inn are based close to Fontana Dam (828-479-3677, http://www.thehikeinn.com/)
2) Curtis at Standing Bear Farm Hostel is based just a mile from Davenport Gap (423-487-0014, http://www.standingbearfarm.com/)

Yep, I used Jeff last year. Great service.
When are you going? I'll be there Wednesday, I'm section hiking the eastern half. Maybe we can shuttle each other instead of paying. opie1979 @ yahoo.com

Where will you be on the 23rd? Fontana or Davenport Gap? There's actually a good chance that day will be my hike-out day.
23rd I'll be at the Deep Creek Ranger station or Standing Bear to leave my truck, i'll need a ride to Clingman's Dome.

Where is Deep Creek Ranger station? Do you mean Big Creek? I think I'll be at Big Creek RS around the 23rd
Big Creek is correct, sorry. I think I have a friend shuttling me. I'll make sure I have an extra cold one in my truck, and leave it near the trailhead if you want.

Ron McGaha is another option, 423-625-0739. I used him for this same section a couple of years ago and he's very reliable. He's hiked almost all the trails in GSMNP and is loaded with information.
