I use Steel Cut Oats that I have finely ground, just my preference. Being near the holidays I wanted to pass this recipe along. Enjoy.

That sounds great SassyWindsor. I have thought about making my own many times. There is just something about making it myself that I like. Ive been using the Cliff Bars though and have to say there hard to beat. I have found cost wise they work out about the same as making them myself and there in a nice little wrapper... But we go through a lot of them because we eat them even when were not on the trail. I may just give your recipe a try.

Thanks

After looking at the recipe I love your idea about using the steel cut oats to grind your own flour for the recipe. I don't have a flour meal but will see just what the old food processor will do. Should work just fine i think. I may also have to add some pumpkin seeds. :D

Do you know what the shelf-life is on these? That is, how long will they last in a pack? How long will they last in a refrigerator?

You can make oat flour from old-fashioned (rolled oats) even in a mini food chopper or blender. Very easy and very fresh!
