You better head back to Tenn. Jed. One of the best shows I ever saw was back in 1996 I think,(leonids).I could see a smoke trail, very faint and could here the meteor sizzle as it passed over.I awoke at 4:30 AM to watch, and was not disipointed with about 35 meteors in a hour and a half maybe Hope It's clear here in the north east by thurs.:)
I plan on driving to a bald somewhere down here to watch.

Too bad it isn't next Thursday with the new moon in the sky. The third quarter moon will diminish the vividness of the meteors as they streak across the sky.
It's calling for partial clearing here tomorrow night , we will see ...or maybe not.

Just might Marta, if this cold front rushes in like they say. Wishing you good viewing!

While I'm driving home from work tonight (11PM-12:30AM) I'll have to keep one eye on the sky, usually I close them both while driving home.:D

Let the dog out last night, looked up for about 10 min. tops, could'nt see a bloody thing....except the moon! maybe next year.:-?
Drats! They're sometimes as elusive as Maine moose.....
I spent a few cold minutes outside around four this morning. Bright moon and a few bright stars. No meteorites. Went back inside and made a pot of tea.

I think my wife and I saw the same shooting star while driving to Raleigh.
