Listened to Lord of the Ring this summer and I'd say it's perfect for the trip. As a bonus I got to listen to Frodo struggle up Mount Doom as I happened to be struggling up a climb as well... perfect motivation.

Walked some of the Florida Trail listening to a Carl Hiassen book, who writes primarily of the Keys and the surrounding areas. Pretty neat to listen to descriptions of areas and be almost the same as where I was.

Bill Bryson's "A Walk in the Woods" is befitting... Read by the author, it's hilarious.

My iPod has 78 gigs of audiobooks....hard to choose, so I'll cheat. Either the Dark Tower (gunslinger) series by Stephen King or Aubrey Series by Patrick O'Brien. If you haven't already, check out www.audible.com (http://www.audible.com)
