Anyone ever used one? They are on sale @ REI and I am thinking about picking one up for the warmer months.

I have one and I like it. I use it for when I am trying to keep my pack weight way down. That and a small OES micro tarp, a partial length fleece under quilt, with a summer top quilt and I can be around 8 pounds base weight. I put whoopie sling on it and I'm really pleased with the comfort of that set up.

I've used one for two years now on the AT. The Grand Trunk Ultralight Hammock (http://at-trail.blogspot.com/2010/03/camping-hammocks-grand-trunk.html) packs very small and is very light weight. (My Grand Trunk Ultralight hammock at Annapolis Rock, MD. (http://at-trail.blogspot.com/2010/03/hammock-camping-along-appalachian-trail.html))

Get yourself a foam pad for use with it and cut/taper the pad to fit better. I also added a $2 head net from Walmart for keeping bugs out of my face while sleeping.

I use a generic 8X10 poly tarp from the hardware store as overhead cover. Heavier than I'd like, but bomb proof. I've rode out several good thunderstorms and stayed dry so far.
