Polar Buff

I really like the versatility and weight of it for hiking. My brother loves it and thinks polar buff is the best. I must admit though that the guy is a funny mountebank.

Neat. I have their original buffs and didn't even know they made these. Look great for winter use, but which one to get? Polar buff, reversible polar buff, or merino wool buff!

never go on a hike without mine, don't have the polar but the original one works just fine while hiking in both summer and winter

I have the original Buff and a merino wool BuffI always carry the merino wool version. It is so much more versatile INMO. It is longer which allows it to be worn as a balaclava, a double layer stocking cap among many others.

Wow, that is really cool. I might have to add that to my shopping list.

I now have three buffs, the polar buff for winter, a hunter orange one for fall, and a regular for the rest of the year. Wonderful piece of gear.

I will definitely add a polar buff to my gear .

I used to use a large scarf( like Palestinian scarf which is about two feet by 2.5 feet) in all of my hikings in Iran. It is the most versatile piece of gear in any situation.

The scarf is made of cotton (sometimes cotton and wool) and can do all the things a Buff can do plus acting as the drying towel after shower, drying tent fly and tent floor, protecting your face during power naps in woods, cooling the head by soaking it in the water and covering over the head, soaking in streams to filter the water, a good medical cloth for stopping the bleeding and many other jobs.
