In thinking about Jack's response on an earlier thread (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7906&page=2), I thought I'd throw this out to see what else is out there. I put this in the Straight Forward fourm hoping to elicit responses not other site bashing, but please feel free to give an objective viewpoint. - Moderators - do your job! :D

What other AT discussion sites are out there? I think it would be nice to have a database built up for reference purposes... I know I depend primarily on WB - the friendly atmosphere keeps me coming back - but what else is there?

Do you just mean AT devoted sites, or sites that have forums that talk about the AT as well, like Trail Journals?

Well, in the interest of building a database - lets open it up to trail discussion of any type - Thanks Rock!

My site: http://hikinghq.net/ has an AT forum.

My favorite Lightweight site: http://www.backpacking.net/bbs.html has a forum for long distance hiking

The aforementioned Trail Journals: http://www.trailjournals.com/ has a lot of AT discussion.

Trail Talk: http://www.thebackpacker.com/trailtalk/ was a good site, but I haven't gone there in years because it got too way off topic for my tastes. It may have changed.

And TrailPlace was once my favorite AT place, but that was about two or three servers ago, back around 2000, 2001. But it is still going at www.trailplace.com

The original A.T. discussion list is the at-l, one of several hiking trail e-lists on the National Scenic Trails Mailing Lists website:
http://www.backcountry.net/
In addition to the A.T. e-list, Ryan Brooks' website hosts the e-lists for the Pacific Crest Trail, the Ice Age Trail, the North Country Trail, the Florida Trail, and the Continental Divide Trail.
