I hope it is OK to post this here (as opposed to the food section, mods feel free to move it)

Was wondering how long you can keep the freeze dried meals. Do they go bad?

Thanks.

about a year after the exp. date is when I dump freeze dried food. you could go longer of course.

They don't "spoil", but they do begin to lose some nutritional value (read "calories"), from what I hear.

Use up the old ones at home, where a "nutritional loss" won't matter!:D

You are fine for quite a while - years, perhaps. The quality of the food might degrade a bit, but it won't go bad. Sometimes I have noticed the taste being off. I still have some that expired between 2005 and 2010 and it is still good - (I am still working my way through a rather large PRO-Deal purchase from 2002). I called the MFGR and they said it was OK to eat. I just add a bit more cayenne and a little bit of olive oil and I am Rocknroll good to go!!!!!
