i currently own an ALPS mountaineering lightweight air pad to go along with my big agnes blackbu
rn SL zero degree bag.

pad: http://www.alpsmountaineering.com/pads/air-pads/lightweight-air-pad

bag:
https://www.bigagnes.com/Products/Detail/Bag/blackburnSL

the ALPS pad weighs 2.2 lbs, which i feel is a bit heavy, and it's also semi bulky. on the plus side, the pad fits pe
rfectly in the pad sleeve on my bag and it's very comfortable.

would switching to a z-lite be a smart idea conside
ring the big agnes bag doesn't have any insulation on the bottom? i have a golite jam and was thinking i would use the z-lite as a frame and cut down on some weight/bulk.

also, does anyone know the
r value of my current ALPS pad? i can't find it on the official site.

foam pads are one thing on a pile or leaves and grass. on rocks or a shelter floor its another thing. My I recommend @14 oz and $49 and 3" thick

This is so small when packed you would never have to take it out of your sleeping bag to pack up. this would save time AND help protect the sleeping pad. If you want something square I like the neo trekker, or something larger with higher R value is the Exped UL 7.

I have the neoair and neo xlite. neither is as good as the trekker which isnt as good as the exped.

My z-lite got squished flat after a couple months on the trail, I wasn't whelmed by it.
