Going to be looking for a ride from the nearest but station to the north end of the Mid-State Trail, or the Crystal Hills Trail Linking the Mid-State to the Finger Lakes Trail in NY.
Anyone here on the list in the Corning/Binghamton (even Ithaca?) NY area, or in northern Pa that might be able to help? It would be second or third week of April... please reply to [email protected]

Thanks!

According to the 'hound's web site this evening there is a stop at a location called "Corning Gang Mills NY" at S&A Mini Mart, 305 S Hamilton St which is only a block off from the designated unblazed road walk portion of Crystal Hills Trail just south of I-86. The schedule shows a stop here coming from NYC (transfer at Binghamton) at 4:05 pm which would in late April get you there in good time to head into the nearest state land to camp.

Pat Monahan, volunteer President of Finger Lakes Trail Conference, is in Corning, is not known to be on any boards but his contact info is listed here: http://www.fltconference.org/trails/about-the-fltc/contact-us/ He has been known to be very helpful either directly or through references to long distance hikers. Possibly if he has time the day you come he could even spot you at the nearest road access to the north end of CHT.

Just out of curiosity, how far do you aim to go?
