I am with Eden Valley Enterprises and we are working with filmmaker Peter Huston to create a documentary about Emma Gatewood. We recently created a storytelling program about her which premiered at a Community Center in Ohio in November to a sold out house! We are now working on raising funds to create a full documentary about her and we have a Kickstarter Campaign (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2100362239/meet-emma-gatewood-the-appalachian-trails-legendar) running until January 19, 2012 to raise $3,500 in seed money for the project. We only have 10 more days to raise the money, so please take a moment to read about the project and consider a donation. All donations are gratefully accepted and all are tax deductible. Even if you can't make a pledge, you can help by passing the information along.

If you prefer to make a donation directly to Eden Valley regardless of the status of the Kickstarter Campaign (we can collect no money unless we meet our goal of $3,500), you can use Paypall or download a special form direct from our Grandma Gatewood page (http://www.edenvalleyenterprises.org/progdesc/gatewood/gtwdinf.htm) on our website.

Questions? Send me a message!

Thank you in advance for your help.

Yeehaw! A much needed break from the typical AT documentary. Looking forward to it.

Bette Lou, this might sound unkind, so I apologize in advance. When I read such solicitations as "All donations are gratefully accepted and all are tax deductible," I know that we have some enthusiastic amateurs in control.

No tax professional would allow such a naked, blatant warranty such as "all are tax deductible," because no one can honestly make such a claim. Are you an IRC 501(c)(3) organization? If the answer is yes, then question number two is can the donors in all (your word) cases qualify to claim contributions as deductions? There's no way on earth you can know that, yet you state you do. Are you speaking of federal or state deductions? If state, which states?

Don't get yourself in trouble. With that having been said, I hope you succeed in this enterprise.
