I'm getting the Winter Blues. I'd like to drive far enough south to set up camp & day-hike in 60 degree weather for a week. I was looking at The Foothills Trail around Greenville, SC but it's been a bit chilly there. Probably need to head a bit further south... Any Suggestions ?? :-?

For dayhikes, and perhaps weekends, you can pick your days.
Overdressing can help also, but friggin cold is still friggin cold. lol

Driving south is more practical than taking 20 years off though.
Yeah, I'm feeling cold this winter, and its a warm one. lol

Check out the Florida Trail. Just did a weekend at Withlacoochee State Forest - Croom Trail. Not very hilly, but best Florida has to offer. A nice walk in the woods.

Yeah temps here in N. Fl have ranged from 40 - 70 this past week. The FL trail would be a good option.

I hiked the 70 mile Ocala Trail in Florida the first week of February 1999. Resupply was relatively easy back then and might still be easy. Trail was fun and flat. Temps were 85 in the afternoon and one night got down to 37*F (a cold wave through Florida). Water and bears were plentiful (the Ocala National Forest has lots of black bears). Didn't run into any alligators. There was a six seat bar near the trail about 1/3 of the way south from the northern terminus.
