Tell me about the Silk Lite shirt and leggings. Brand, cost etc.?

... but think you might be happier with the neoair. great work -- enjoy the hike!!!I agree in both cases . . . great work, but some people can't sleep well at all on a foam pad. Also, I would question the sleep shirt and leggings. I don't carry any clothing that it's sole purpose is for sleeping in. For me those items would add weight. The Alpenlite is rated at 20* so it looks like you gave up 20* of warmth for 9 oz. On real cold nights, was it worth it?

i see this is a summer hike. u def dont need a zero bag. u would probably bo ok with a 35*. i dont think you will ever be cold with a high end 20* in the summer.

i wuld also oike to hear more about sili stuff for layering.

tarps still scare me because i did the jmt durring mozzy season. i want a full tent. u r a better man than i am.

how long is your summer hike going to be? i have found that i dnt sleep as well on foam if the ground is hard or uneven. but i dont notice untill i feel drqined from lack of GOOD sleep till like day four or five. i would just recomend sleeping on a hard floor like the kitchen for a few nights.

This list is for the Colorado Trail (500 mi) July 1-Aug 15. The silk underwear are Terramar Silkweight. I carry these because I need to know I have dry clothes to wear after hiking in the rain. I got them on sale at Sierra Trading post for $25 each. A 20* bag for Colorado is what is recommended by folks doing the CT. Thanks for the responses.

A few comments and suggestions to consider:

Rather than drop to a foam pad, think about using a NeoAir shortie (9 oz) and putting the padded framesheet of your pack (possibly wrapped in a trashbag) under your legs. That adds 2.5 ounces back, but gives you a lot more overall comfort, especially if you're a side-sleeper.
Take a look at the zPacks Hexamid (http://www.zpacks.com/shelter/hexamid_plus.shtml) in Cuben Fiber, which could shave 4-10 oz off your Wild Oasis depending on the configuration you select. Of course, it's a lot more expensive than the SMD tent.
Your Montbell wind pants will wet out in a heavy rain. They are very breathable and work well to cut wind without overheating, but you'll eventually feel the effects of a cold, hard rain.
It looks as if the Marmot Mica jacket isn't very long in the back. I had problems with my jacket riding up from my rain pants as I walked with a pack. I solved by sewing a 4" strip velcro to the inside bottom of the jacket hem and outside of the rain pants, which keeps everything in place.
Please post a link to your 4 ounce Waldies!
Where did you acquire your GG Crown? It's not even listed on the GG site yet.

Update-- The Waldies are 4. oz per shoe--just wasted $35. I know the MB pants will wet out, but I am banking on the product "Never Wet" to be available before I leave for my trip. This stuff rocks, superhydrophoric and can be used on almost anything. If I can't get this, I will probably use my 7 oz rain pants.
The GG Crown will be available in March, I am near the front of the line to get one. i have a Neo Air Shortie, but I could not sleep on it as my pack was moving all over the place. Thanks Again...
