I have a Tarptent and want to re-seam seal before my hike this summer. Any ideas about this or should I just add another layer? Can i remove the old? Suggestions helpful

I've resealed my Rainbow, just went over the old sealant.
Used silicon seal caulk thinned with coleman fuel.
I bought from the big box hardware store a small plastic bottle with a brush in the nozzle which is used to apply grout sealant to tile. Put the tent sealant in the bottle and apply, makes for a quick, easy, no mess job.

You can find the grout seal bottle here; http://www.buyhardwaresupplies.com/?t=5&itemNumber=2166445
(http://www.buyhardwaresupplies.com/?t=5&itemNumber=2166445)Makes the job so much easier. Holds 2 oz., more than enough to do a tent. Cost about $6 and can be reused. Bought mine at Home Depot.

Do make sure that you use translucent 100% silicone (it will say so on the label)
Not all silicones are the same....
