I don't know how their prices stack up against their competition, but I'm on their mailing list, so I thought I'd pass this on for my friends at Whiteblaze:

They also have an occasional new tent design which is a standout but doesn't get much recognition because they aren't as big as REI or brand label manufacturers.

I still have $35 on a EMS gift card and need socks so thanks! EMS is pretty decent in my longtime but limited experience with them.
EDIT: Appears only the mixed three pack of mens socks is on sale. oh well

fwiw: I have no financial stake in this, nor am I an employee.They don't sell there long time "Velocity 1"tent any more,unless you can find it on the store shelfs.Guess It wasn't a big seller...heavier than most 1 person tents on the market today.

EMS, like REI and LL Bean have very attractive return policies. I think that they are afraid to go head-to-head with the cottage manufacturers on tent design materials and design, mainly because they would have to offer the same warranty that most of the UL guys offer (one year), which would be an exception to the return rule, and, to some regular (non-ultralighters) customers "Getting cheap".
