This (http://www.rei.com/product/826058/rei-flash-65-pack-2010-overstock) seems like a heck of a deal for someone looking for a light pack. I haven't tried one, but they look to be very nice. Womens models, too.

My GF has one. It has a MUCH larger volume than my Osprey atmos 65. Its also lighter. We dont have many miles on that pack yet like 3 or 400 including the JMT carrying a full bear can. no noticeable wear and tear.

I've got the 2008 model (I think) that is essentially the same. Excellent pack.

i got the women's 50 the other month to fill in one weekend when i had to ship my jade off for repair. very impressed with the little pack. only thing missing was a aircontact back system.

The description lists it as a minimalist pack that weighs in just under 2 lbs, but under specs it's listed as 3 lbs 3 oz. What up with that?

the 2lb rating is the "minimilist" configuration. no top lid, removed frame sheet, etc. I just picked one up! Thx for the nudge, feral. This is right in my price range and about as light/comfy pack as I am going to get at that price. So stoked!

That's my pack! And I absolutely love it! Only thing I would change is to make all four lid to pack connectors quick disconnects. Have no idea why they have the two back ones where you have to unthread/thread them to remove the lid. Other than that, fantastic backpack!

I have the 55 and love it. I just wish I had purchased the 65 instead. Only if I could go back and redo it all over
