i am looking for a trail runner right now. all the descriptions i am reading about say this boot is good for a moderate load, or moderate to heavy load, light load, ets..... does anyone know what the weight corresponds to the descriptions. i am assuming that moderate weight is 35 pounds, which is what i want my pack to be fully loaded. but i do not want to be wrong and buy the wrong shoe.

I wear trail runners no matter the weight, as long as I'm on a trail. YMMV

You need to consider what you weigh as well as your pack weight. You really are not going to know if you like them until you try them. I found a pair of NB 814's on sale for $49.99 and tried them on a 6 day hike. When I got back to town I bought another pair on sale. I liked them that much. I'm 5'9 and weigh 180 and carry about 28 lb. in my pack. I think the shoes would be fine with a heavier load.

If you're hiking on a trail, wear trail runners that are comfortable off the trail.

If you're hiking on a rocky trail, wear trail runners that have a stiff outsole and are comfortable off the trail.
