Toxic Socks

While looking at Dan Bruce's "The thru-Hikers Handbook"Glossary of terms there was one that caught my eye.Toxic Socks;a whimsical term used to describe a thru-hikers socks badly in need of a wash.It reminded me of the time I had taken my socks off,thrown them in towards the corner of the tent.The next mourning, they had awoken before me and when I opened my eyes there they were standing at attention(on there own)ready for the new day. :-?

Reminded me of when the REI shoe guy tried to tell me that wool socks won't stink. I should zip-lock my next pair, bring them in and let them do their Salute!
