Does anyone have some experience with US Military Light Weight Patrol Sleeping Bag? The technical specs that I've read say that it is rated to +30 and comes in at around two pounds, but since it is part of a multi-piece sleeping system I was wondering about its performance as a stand alone three-season bag.

the patrol bage is rate 30 - 50 . the 30 degre is probably with the bivie, it is not warm enough for 30 degree temps alone, I slept in mine with a poncho liner in the high 30's ,december in Mississippi. so 40 is probably a little more realistic. but you will be pushing it.

I have the whole system and basically i bring the black "0" degree bag with me all year round. Its warm enough for the coldest temps ull encounter and if its too warm use it just as a mattress or quilt. I would only go out with the green bag in the middle of august or in other words during a time of year when im sure it wont dip below 50.
