I am thinking about developing an iphone/android app for the AT. I want the shelters, trail towns, where to stay or shop, mail drop and info. I also want to have the ability to plug in the distance you want to travel for a section hike, how many days, and the area, and have a database of possibilities, where to get on/off the trail, where to park... blah blah. My question is, is there an app for that? Sounds silly, but I don't opperate with a smart phone, so I have never used an app. I just thought it would be something very useful. Kind of a trail guide you don't need to lug around.
