Does anyone know about the S straps or J straps option for the ULA circuit.. I am getting this pack for my hike on the Pacific Crest and I was wondering if anyone has the s straps. I have similar ones on my kelty and i love that pack but its too heavy....

I talked with Chris about this just a few weeks ago. I told him my body size 5' 8" 41" chest 150lbs and he said to go for the s.

I have the S straps and they're wonderful. 'Course I'm a gal and it fits my chest better - but they're recommended for men too, they're quite comfy. Watch this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_V18juntthY&feature=g-all-a&list=PL1EC1E64B70773612&context=G2328e5fFAAAAAAAACAA).

If you're starting at kickoff, you could wait and buy your pack there, but I'd make sure ULA is bringing the packs you're considering in your size.

ULA does not make the best cut shoulder strap, I have a Circuit and the shoulder straps are the most significant drawback in my view (J straps). It's not that they are all that bad, it's just SO EASY to make them so much better. I suspect the S straps are the way to go, in any event, you will be able to return the pack I suspect if you are not happy with it, and get the other straps. ULA has excellent customer service.

Well designed shoulder straps shouldnt need a strap linking them together to keep them from sliding off your chest. I find ULAs do on me. But every pack has its + and - and overall I like my ULAs better than some others .
