The SST is a part of the GET and is a rocky ridgetop trail known for its superb views, historical features, and rock outcrops and sinkholes. The Standing Stone Trail Club is doing amazing work transforming this trail into a first rate footpath. There is a new shelter near Butler Knob.

Having hiked this trail entirely, I would agree; I hope they can eliminate the remainder of the road walking, which is the only drawback of the trail that I see. I plan to see the new shelter this summer.
