Black Diamond Trail

Ok I'm embarrassed to ask this but here it is. I have a pair of black diamond trail trekking poles and I love them but....... I can't figure out how to adjust the straps!! Please help.

Look at the handle where the stap enters. That little thingy between the straps moves up and down.
