Is there one particular provider that has the best coverage from ME to GA?

I know that w/ Cingular you get service sometimes on the GA and NC sections of the AT, but I don't know how it is N of these areas... I know this subject may stir up some controversy ~ that is not my intentions. I find cell phones to be rather annoying and should only be used for emergencies or for calling home while stopped in a town.

Is there one particular provider that has the best coverage from ME to GA? Don't know if it's the best, but it's not bad. Type in any area code to see the national coverage map.

I use AT&T/Cingular and had good coverage basically all the way. I could generally get a call out any day I wanted but I might not be able to get out at the time I'd like, depending on terrain.

just purchased a TracFone (http://www.tracfone-orders.com/direct/tr/phonelist.jsp?tech=TOGSM4&AID=HPB60&VID=23712436&VC=9&COM=NO&techzip=37172), to ease my wife's mind about my safety...the offer is $29.99 for the refurbished phone (5.3oz) & 100 mins of airtime.

its a PRE-PAID CELL Phone....i will never need 100 mins...so, it looks like it'll do the trick...i cked out the coverage area...& it looks good from Hot Springs, NC to Pearisburg,VA,....will ck it VERSUS the "real world" when i get out there.
