Looks like those early birds on the trail will get some temps in the teens and twentys this weekend, even as far south as GA. I hope this mild winter didn't lul anyone into leaving home some needed cold weather gear. heck of a lesson to be learned.

It could drop down to 15 degrees tonight on the trail in Georgia/Nc/Tn.
Very cold. Get your asses into Neels Gap, The Noc, Franklin, Helen, ect wherever and wait it out for 48 hours.
Going to be a good test for the winter gear tonight here on the AT in GA. I expect temps tonight around 10 degrees or less with wind chill well below zero.
I was out this morning in the light snow and brutal winds. It was chilly for sure. Tomorrow will be cold as well, but a lot more sun will help.

It is pretty nasty in Western NC right now. I just checked the weather station up on Grandfather Mtn, less than 30 minutes from the trail, and the temp was 3 degrees with with gusts of 77 mph. Pretty foul conditions.

We at NOC today, pretty damn cold. They also lost power in all of the cabins. IE no heat.
