This was Doctari's idea, so I am just starting another thread to get this going.
The Big Dig is a 6-week trail building effort about 30-40 minutes north of Chattanooga, TN. This effort is helping to construct the Cumberland Trail.
Food, lodging & entertainment is provided to volunteers who work on the trail. Lodging is provided in a church camp, or you can pitch a tent or hammock down by the lake.
I live about 30-minutes from the church camp. May 27-29 is a weekend. I probably can't stay all weekend, but I'd be up for at least a couple of days of work (Friday & Saturday??).
Anybody else? Rainman? Shelly Hale? Medicine Man? Where are all those Tennessee Volunteers? Come one - come all! The work site is approximately 2 hours from Atlanta, Knoxvile, Nashvile, Birmingham & Huntsville. Lets show our collective support for the Cumberland Trail!
