So I'm thinking about ditching gortex trail runners for regular trail runners and using some waterproof socks if conditions are really nasty. Anybody got any experience with the NRS Hydroskins? Backpacking Light was really high on them in a recent article on footwear.

I have a pair of NRS Sandal Socks (http://www.nrsweb.com/shop/product.asp?pfid=2346&pdeptid=1168) that I carry instead of a camp shoe. I can't justify the extra weight of a shoe for camp, so I use these when necessary with my Inov-8 Roclite 295's (http://www.inov-8.com/New/UK/Product-View-Roclite-295.html?L=27). At three ounces for the XL's, I can live with that. I have no desire to wear them to try keeping my feet dry while hiking. My trail runners dry out quick enough and these are perfect at the end of the day while I get things done prior to calling it a night.
