I've got a Nike Triax watch that I wear a decent bit but not all the time. It has got a nice stank on it now after a couple years. I have tried washing it with dish soap and it didn't get any better. It's waterproof so no worries about that...but does anybody have an ideas on how I could get the stink off?

Postcard,from trail journals wrote about using a turtle wax glass restorer to relieve the face though I don't think that would help with the funk,but he said it worked great for the clear face.Maybe replace the band?I'm still trying to talk my buddy into buying a container of this,so I don't have to,and can keep my costs low.:D

I have a couple of Timex Ironman watches with velcro bands. I put 'em in a peanutbutter jar with some Woolite and let 'em soak for a couple of days.
If the band is plastic, get a toothbrush, dip in white vinegar, and scrub away. If it's velcro, remove it from the watch and soak it in white vinegar. After either, rinse with water afterward. Should do the trick.

It is plastic so I will give the vinegar scrub a shot. Thanks!!
You have to replace the watch strap once it become incrusted with dead skin than smells like ****.
Velcro watch straps are pretty cheap.
The funk is the main reason I use a stainless steel band, even leather will get funky after a while.

Well the mention of changing the strap isn't going to work - its a co-molded polyurethane strap. Over time bacteria has built up in the microscopic pores in the watch band that makes it flexible. so what comes to my mind is similar to body funk in a wet suit. Do not use harsh stuff like Bleach.
Here is another vote for Woolite.
Ewwww. Glad I stopped wearing a watch. I do remember the plastic band body funk though. Get one of those clip on watches and put it on your shoulder strap maybe? Fixes the problem completely.
You could try an oxyclean soak. You could also try one of those pet stain removers like Nature's Miracle.
This reminds me, I gotta go clean the bird poop out of my cuckoo clock!

After you are done with that I have a building in Chadds Ford covered in Pigeon Poop...are you good with heights? it's 45 feet up. Pays well!
Heights don't bother me, I'm just afraid of falling.

Soak it in a water / bleach solution for a few minutes. Done. Don't use to much bleach though.
