So I'm planning the first 0-day of my section hike for Damascus and I'm sure I will be excited to experience all the town has to offer after my first week on the trail. Any suggestions of spots to hit? I see on my guide there's a number of B&Bs, a library, a dollar store, a massage parlor and something called "Crazy Larry's". Can't wait!

Quincey's Pizza for sure - get a rental bike and ride the creeper trail - stay at the Hiker Hostel, swim in the river - there is a big rock you can jump off, and have breakfast at Dairy King - if you've hiked far enough, you deserve a strawberry milk shake with your food! --- oh, yeah, stop at Mt. Roger's Outfitters and say hi to the folks there.

Yep. Throw back a cold beer, eat a greasy burger, and drop some change into the jukebox full of good ol' whiny country tunes.

You might even find LW enjoying breakfast at the new Little Bit of Everything restaurant too.....

I think you need to scale down you're expectations. It's an Appalachian trail town, its only remarkable because the paucity of options at other waypoints on the trail.

The best part of Damascus? The trail leading out of town.

Quincys is good but the place past Dots is better if its still there. The outfitter is cool as well. Mojos has decent coffee. Serial at sundogs is a good guy to talk to about gear and such. Not much to Damascus. Nice town.

Damascus. Creeper trail is worth doing. Rent a bike, take the shuttle and ride downhill.

I forgot the name of that restaurant on the right going out of town just past sundog, but it has good chow.

It maybe needs a benefactor or a group of folks willing to step up with donations to keep it going. Asking for a "suggested donation" with a person standing there with their hand out is a good hint. And I bet would get the $5.

I went to Dots once. Once.

There was a place outside of Bozeman like that, meaning the attitude. It closed.
